Submissions

INFORMATIONS TO THE AUTHORS

1. E-Legis accepts original and unpublished research manuscripts and experience reports. Preliminary works published in annals of scientific events or on preprint platforms are considered unpublished by E-Legis.

2. The doctoral degree of at least one of the authors is required.

3. The nomination of up to five authors per manuscript is allowed, including the primary author and co-authors. When there is a distinction of roles between authors, the primary author must be the first cited.

4. In the submission, the authors must inform: their full name, institutional affiliation(s), email, and ORCID.

5. The authors should reference and allow access to data, program code, and other content underlying the manuscript texts. The cited content must be available in open access before and after publication.

6. When submitting a manuscript, the authors undertake not to send it to another journal during the evaluation process.

7. Before sending the manuscript, the author must verify if it meets the requirements of micro and macro aspects and content evaluation.

8. It is also recommended to read the manuscript fomatting instructions.

9. The following files must be attached for submission:

  • Cover letter: addressed to editors, should follow the template available;
  • Manuscript for evaluation: the document must be submitted according to the template available at the Overleaf template (submit the project .zip) or in the manuscript template (submit the document .doc/.docx); and
  • Tables and figures as separate documents, where appropriate.

10. In the case of submission using the Overleaf model, it is recommended to read the instructions for start working on the Overleaf project.

11. In the case of submitted manuscripts that receive an editorial decision to "accept with mandatory adaptations", the changes made must be included in a review letter.

12. There is no fee for the submission and evaluation of manuscripts.

 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION

1. E-Legis adopts the submission of manuscripts exclusively online through the journal page on the OJS platform.

2. The files must be submitted in LaTeX project format to Overleaf (.zip) or .doc/.docx and do not exceed 10 (ten) MB each.

3. The manuscript should follow the template available in the Overleaf template or in the manuscript template. In the case of format .doc/.docx, the authorship ID should be removed from the file and the Properties option.

4. The cover letter should follow the template available.

5. Manuscripts should have 5,000 to 10,000 words (excluding abstracts, keywords, tables, and figures).

6. Manuscripts can be submitted in Portuguese, English, or Spanish.

7. The manuscripts should contain titles, abstracts (maximum of 200 words each), tables, figures, and up to five keywords in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.

8. The citations, references, and presentation of tables and figures should follow the instructions in the submission template.

9. E-Legis uses the best references in the revision process to ensure the good quality of the texts, which includes revision of aspects such as punctuation, use of acronyms, use of capital initials, and use of italics for foreign terms.

10. The text must be written entirely in a language compatible with scientific writing, in an impersonal language, through the use of the third person of the speech, the concealment of the agent, the grammatical use of the indeterminate subject, the use of an inanimate agent, and(or) the use of the passive voice.
